Love Link is a Christian mission serving families from the slums of San Salvador, El Salvador. Malnourished babies, aged 1 to 18 months, are brought to the center from local hospitals. Most of the babies brought to Love Link are near death when they arrive. Love Link provides round-the-clock care for up to 25 babies at a time, nourishing them and eventually restoring them to their families. Love Link also serves free daily lunches to over 600 kids at three children’s dining rooms in their surrounding community.
Admissions to the baby house and community medical clinics were halted due to coronavirus precautions, but have resumed with enhanced cleaning and screening. The staff at Love Link have seen an influx of malnourished children who desperately need help because families have been unable to feed their children adequately. During the pandemic, Love Link has temporarily switched to providing grocery kits and meals for whole families who typically send their children to the dining rooms for a daily meal.
