By integrating urban farming and sports into their primary goal of sharing the gospel, they offer both spiritual guidance and practical support to the poor.

Semear's urban agriculture program teaches sustainable gardening, language learning, and nutrition to adults and children in several gardens around the city. Harvests are enjoyed by the communities, providing additional food, and the excess is sold in partnering churches to provide supplemental income. Semear shares the gospel and disciples believers through garden programs for young children and adults.

Semear is well-respected in the community and has received several commendations and awards for its service. Despite the ever-present potential for gang conflict, it has been able to build relationships with people and provide a safe place for them to seek counsel, assistance, and encouragement.
