Misión Integral Urbano Rural (MISIUR) improves the quality of life for poor children and their families in Peru. MISIUR operates two after-school programs, serving 500 children and youth each day. These programs create a safe place away from gang violence where children are fed physically and spiritually. The children participate in Bible studies, tutoring, physical activities, and counseling. Parents are also provided with Bible studies and counseling, emphasizing building healthy family relationships.
Violence against women and girls has sweeping impacts. According to The World Bank, one in three women in Peru will experience domestic violence. MISIUR provides training within communities to raise awareness about domestic violence. The ministry offers workshops for parents and home health visits and helps establish effective communication between kids and parents.
